Jason E. Mudd, MD
Dr. Mudd was born in Tennessee and shortly thereafter moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was raised in the Albuquerque area and graduated from St. Pius X high School. He then attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mudd then transferred to the University of New Mexico and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in chemistry.
While at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Mudd worked as a student intern at Sandia National Laboratories. He co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in the field of chemical engineering. Dr. Mudd then attended medical school at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine where he graduated second in his class. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and was awarded the senior academic achievement award.
Dr. Mudd elected to pursue a career in otolaryngology and completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. During his residency he performed research in the field of laryngology and was awarded the 2nd place poster presentation award at the Combined Otolaryngology Section Meeting in 2009 for his research on collagen injections in the vocal fold. He also participated in many quality improvement projects that included improvement in EMR implementation.
